An announcement: I will unfortunately not be able to attend TBEX 2011 in Vancouver.  I can’t believe it — I was looking forward to it so much!  That weekend is my best friend’s wedding, and I’m a bridesmaid.  That’s ALSO the weekend of my five-year college reunion.  Wedding trumps all, I’m afraid.

So You’ve Graduated From College, Now What? This post by Christine from Almost Fearless is an excellent, detailed how-to guide for the new college grad who just NEEDS to travel or just NEEDS to have an amazing experience before settling down in the world of work — for as cheap as possible.

Is Travel All Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows? In short, no.  Brooke from Brooke vs. the World talks about some of her negative experiences on the road.  Loneliness is a huge part of travel, and if it happens, it’s not a failure on your part.

Review of Travel Blog Ranking Sites : “Website stats – an addictive pastime?” Andy from 501 Places asks. Um, YES. I’m obsessed.  He lays out several of the top ranking tools and explains why they’re useful. GREAT post!  (I just wish that Travel Blog Sites was accepting new bloggers, because mine would be up there for sure.)

Use Your Liver to Get a Leg Up on Jet Lag : Anil at foXnoMad supplies a jet lag tip I hadn’t heard before — eating at different times!  Turns out it matters a lot more than going to bed at a different time.

Thailand (Slightly) Off the Beaten Path: 3 Places We Wish We Had Visited : Thailand is one of the most popular countries for backpackers, and thousands of blog posts have been written about Chiang Mai, Pai and Ko Pha Ngan and Krabi.  Marta at A Travel Around the World profiled some lesser-visited destinations, like Tarutao National Park, where you can get away from the well-trod tourist trail.

Do Travel Writers Get Laid More Than the Average Person? The headline of the week, from Michael at Art of Backpacking .  No further comment.

New York Gives Me The Spins : Cailin at Travel Yourself makes the most beautiful travel videos.  This one was taken at TBEX in New York, features tons of travel bloggers (picking them out in the background was so much fun!) and spinning away.

Solo in South America: Part I : This is my good friend Josh’s first post on his latest South America trip for the Cheapflights.com news blog .  He takes the most EPIC trips — stays at the best hotels, parties in the hottest clubs, and makes tons of friends.  Check it out!

The Wander Project Is Dead .  Just like that, a travel blog ends.  Blogging isn’t for everyone — nor is it for all writers.
