Spending a Little Money to Make a Lot (and Enjoy it More)

As someone who has managed to support a family for many years as an independent travel writer and editor—not an easy thing—I get invited to speak a lot on the subject and I’ve interviewed a lot of others who have succeeded. Over the years I’ve figured out a few factors that separate the hobbyists from the pros in writing/blogging and most other creative endeavors. Drive, persistence, and a good work ethic matter as lot, plus finding a way to stand out from the pack makes a difference.
