GameXtractor is a Simple Way to Easily Drag Your Deer or Moose

The great thing about the SHOT Show is that you never know what you’ll run across there. That’s why I make a practice of walking each and every aisle and looking at every booth. It means miles of walking, maneuvering around lollygagging rubberneckers, and sore feet, but it also lets me discover stuff that I would have missed. The GameXtractor is one such item.

In a small booth with two guys, I saw it there. So simple–just a length of tubing that goes into a receiver hitch with a rugged V built on the end, in which to nestle your critter’s neck.

Many ATVs, UTVs, and street vehicles have receiver hitches, and they’re pretty handy. Slide this simple tool into a receiver, pin it in place, and you’re set. It looks like a great way to keep your animal’s head up off the ground while dragging it.

Sure, you can just use a rope or strap on your animal – but it will tend to hang up on stuff on the ground while it’s being dragged – and when you’re moving a buck, you usually want to keep the head and antlers in good condition so you can preserve the memory of that hunt in a trophy.

And you can load a deer onto an ATV for hauling, but that usually involves heavy lifting, which can be frustrating and can cause injury. And sometimes the animal is just too large to lift in the woods.
