What better thing to do on long winter nights than looking at inspiring photos from iconic places? I, personally, spend many hours each winter reading travel guides, browsing through photo books and searching new destinations online. It’s probably one of my favorite winter activities, especially on a bone-chillingly cold day. Lately, I’ve become more and more attracted to national parks . I’ve recently spent some time looking up the greatest national parks in the United States—and added them all to my travel wish list—and I’d like to share what I’ve found with you guys.
There are dozens of national parks in the United States , covering pretty much every type of landscape, habitat or geological formation imaginable, ranging from volcanoes to deserts and from tundra to coastlines.
This post is meant to offer some travel inspiration, possibly even ideas, in the form of photographs. While reading is also a wonderful thing to do on a dark and cold winter evening, looking at pretty pictures is arguably more relaxing and makes for a nice alternative.
